Lately I’ve been seeing more and more people starting a 30-day or once-a-day challenges. Be it the sketch a day or song a week challenge, these goals are set to not only create more, but to become better at creating.
With that in mind, I challenge you to take this approach to your photography. Take a new photo every day for at least the next month. Why start now and not some other time? Why not? When you start isn’t what matters. It’s about what you get out of it when you’re done. Pick a subject and work from there.
Start with the basics like composition or do a series of portraits. Play around with different aperture settings to see how they affect your pictures. Do something silly with cats or toys… or both! Take the time to be creative and then to examine these pictures. Over the course of your challenge, you’ll start to see things in your own photography that you can improve upon and then you can do it.
If you do the photo a day challenge, make your anniversary photo the same as one of your first. You’ll be amazed at the difference a year can make. If you want some fresh eyes on your photos, feel free to bring some into your local Creve Coeur Camera store or simply post them on our Facebook page. We can’t wait to see how you grow as a photographer.
