Field Trip: Indoor Sports Photography for Beginners – SPRINGFIELD
Meet at the Nelson Center’s main entrance (1601 N. 5th St., Springfield, IL).
If you struggle to capture great images at indoor/evening sporting events…
THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU!
Join us for a fun night of shooting at a Springfield Jr. Blues Hockey game on Thursday, February 22nd. At the game we will teach you how to prevent blurred images of the athletes. We will discuss focusing options, white balance, and adjusting your exposure settings (ISO, shutter speed, & aperture). This is a great opportunity to learn new skills while actually shooting and get instant feedback from the instructors.
2 instructors, Breck Markley & John Muchow, will be leading this class. We will meet outside the Nelson center entrance beginning at 6:30PM. Attendees will need to be present no later than 6:45PM or they will be responsible for their own entry admission.
Bring your camera, telephoto lens, and an extra battery! In addition, please dress warm, and be advised that we will be shooting near the glass and water puddles are common in that area. You will be standing for most of the class so wear comfortable shoes.
What you will learn:
• How to choose correct shutter speeds to freeze action
• How to set your camera controls for indoor venues
• How to shoot in the manual & shutter priority mode
• How to set the correct metering & focus modes
Who should attend: Beginners and intermediate level photographers
Take After: Photography Fundamentals, Brand Specific Class, Exposures 101
Length: 2 Hours
This class is limited to 12 attendees & registration is required by Feb 20th.
