Here are some suggestions for taking outdoor portraits this summer.Â They may seem basicâ€¦but they will make a huge difference.
1. Â Turn on your flash when shooting people outdoors.
It removes the shadows under the chin and eyes and helps balance the light
2. Â Set your meter for spot metering or center weighted
You are metering for the â€œpeopleâ€ not the background. And you can use a reflector to balance the light...plus it's cheaper than a flash and is a great addition instead of a second flash.
3. Â Use the â€œruleâ€ of thirds.
This makes you images more interesting.
