If you have owned your DSLR camera for awhile and still wonder how to best use it, this is the class for you. The objective of this class is to help you take the next step further into your DLSR. We will discuss the advantages of a DSLR, the exposure compensation buttons, what your histogram means, as well as advanced methods of using white balance and much more. Learn how to quickly brighten or darken your photos to your liking. Your DSLR is an advanced photographic tool; we are here to help you learn how to take advantage of its potential. The Intermediate DSLR class is the next logical step after the Camera Specific class. Bring your camera and a fully charged battery to the class. |

Portrait Photography

Taught by Creve Coeur Camera’s Class Instruction who has over 10 years professional portrait photography experience, this class is for anyone who has a desire to improve their efforts when making portraits. We’ll discuss lenses, apertures, depth-of-field, equipment, and posing and lighting techniques. This is a class which owners of SLR type cameras will find most useful; however, some of the smaller point-and-shoot type cameras are often capable of making portraits as well. |

Studio Lighting

This class will cover the basics of Studio Lighting and how to get the most out of your lighting equipment. Topics will include, how to get a more professional look with your studio lights, how to recognize good lighting and light modifiers. The class will be held in our studio classroom located in the front of Creve Coeur store. Understanding Your Electronic Flash

Well this two-hour seminar will help you take advantage of the many features your flash has so that you can improve your everyday photographs. Exposures 101

In this two-hour session we will be discussing the fundamentals of photography. Shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Those three features of your camera are what makes the picture look the way it does. Understanding how and when to use them is a huge advantage. This class takes a deeper look into Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual modes. Using these modes you can explore the creative side of your camera while also gaining a lot of control over your DSLR. Start telling your camera what to do instead of hoping it does what you want. |

Exposures 201
Cost: $69 Length: 2 hours
Picking up from where 101 left off, we take an in-depth look at how shutter speed, aperture and ISO effect various photographic situations. We break down difficult situations to shoot and how to use your exposure controls to get the picture you want. We will also talk about 'stops' of light and how you can have equivalent exposures to a scene. Other topics will include how shutter speed affects flash, bracketing, metering modes and locking your exposure. |

Photographing Children

This class focuses on capturing children in all the situations you may find them in. Whether it be a birthday party, sporting event, or just around the house. We want to help you pick the proper settings on your camera in order to prevent your photos from coming out blurry or just a moment too late. In this class we will discuss your focusing options, your drive modes, and how to pick the proper location and poses for your photographs. There are a few simple steps you can take to improve your pictures immediately and we are here to inform you of them. We will cover settings such as ISO, white balance, the relationship between shutter speeds and apertures and depth of-field. Preventing blurred images is the name of the game when it comes to Sports Photography; we’ll show you how to use your camera’s settings to prevent this. The various choices in lenses can make a difference in your photos; we will go over the best options for your type of sporting event. |

Sports Photo Critique

Our Sports Photo Critique class is a unique and highly informative way to improve your Sports Photos. No matter what sport you are shooting, this class is the time to share your past photos and learn how to improve future photos. This class is for all levels.
Previous to the day of the class, you will email our instructor 3-5 of your sports photos that you would like to have critiqued during the class. This will assist us in helping you become a better photographer. Please send the photos to Instructor@cccamera.com and label the email "Sports Critique Class". Bring your camera and your Sports Photography gear to the class.

Night Photography

Photographing at night can be one of the most challenging yet rewarding times to take pictures. Our night photography class will discuss the use of tripods, using slower shutter speeds, tips and tricks for photographing at night as well as using alternative sources of light. Come join us in our Night Photography class to learn how to take some of the most creative and inspiring photos with your very own camera. Tripods are highly recommended and we encourage you to bring lighting sources such as an external flash, flashlight, glow sticks and anything else you can think of that can illuminate your photos at night. |

There are a lot of options when it comes to lenses and accessories. We are here to help guide you. This class will discuss different types of lenses, what the numbers on those lenses mean and in which situations these lenses are best used. Other accessories that will be covered include: External Flashes, Expo Discs, Tripods, Gary Fongs and more. Come learn about these tools that can help make your pictures look the way you want them to! Designed for DSLR owners.

Photoshop Elements 101
Cost: $99 Length: 4 hours (2 classes, 2 hours each)
In the first two-hour session, using our in-class computers, we’ll go over the tools, photo enhancements and selecting within an image. Using a pre-chosen set of common problem pictures, you will see what these tools can do. We will also briefly discuss organizing your photos within Photoshop Elements. In the second two-hour class, we will continue to expand on using the tools in the program and explore such options as layers, the many different ways to retouch your photos as well as making composite images. We will spend time learning about color correction and some of the magical changes you can perform with this program.

Photoshop Elements 201
Cost: $99 Length: 4 hours (2 classes, 2 hours each)
Our next step into Photoshop Elements will discuss how to use many of the more advanced features in Photoshop. Features such as adjustment layers, blending modes, skin softening and sharpening will be discussed throughout this four-hour class. This class will be hands-on using our in-class computers with Photoshop Elements. We will spend some time creating composite images to make collages and greeting cards. Take your Photoshop skills to the next level in Photoshop Elements 201.
Pre-requisite: Photoshop Elements 101 or a strong knowledge of the basics of Photoshop. |

Wedding Photography for the Beginner
Cost: $129 Length: 4 hours (2 classes, 2 hrs. each)
If you have been asked to photograph a friend or relative’s wedding and this is your first time attempting to do this, come to this two-part, four hour class for an introduction to the procedures, techniques and equipment which you will need to shoot a wedding. Discussion will include: what equipment to use, the general outline of the events which typically occur during a wedding, how to work with the other service providers and what finished products you might consider offering the couple. Also included in the discussion will be the reasons why you must have a contract as well as dealing diplomatically with awkward situations which may occur. You must have at least one adjustable SLR camera (Single Lens Reflex camera) to attend this class and more than one lens is desirable. An extensive handout is included with this class, which includes an event outline and a suggested photo list.

HDR Photography

High Dynamic Range photography has become a popular technique within digital photography. Capturing a wide range of tones in your image is difficult with a digital camera. HDR photography allows you to combine multiple images to gather the proper tonal range in the shadows, midtones and highlights. Our class will discuss not only the editing process but also camera techniques that are used to capture HDR pictures. Learn how to use your ‘Auto Exposure Bracketing’ as well as other techniques for bracketing your images. NIK’s HDR EFEX Pro software will be demonstrated in the class, but users of all types of HDR software are welcome to attend! |

Field Trip: St. Louis Zoo
Cost: $69 Length: 2 hours
This field trip is primarily geared to SLR camera users. Learn how to take advantage of your Autofocus system when photographing animals and wildlife. Discover how to compose your photos to get the most impact. There will be select lenses for you to use and explore as we tour the grounds of the St.Louis Zoo. Class size limited to 20 attendees over the age of 18. A good understanding of camera operations is required. |
